About MMR
MMR's corporate office is headquartered in Jackson, Michigan and its operating office is located in Flint, Michigan. It was established in 1993 for the purpose of establishing and operating wood waste recycling facilities in southern Michigan to serve the needs of the Genesee Power Station (GPS). GPS is a 38 megawatt wood waste fired cogeneration plant that produces process steam and electricity from wood waste and other renewable materials. The process steam is available to the adjacent industrial park and the electricity, enough for 28,000 households, is sold wholesale to Consumers Energy under a thirty five year contract serving the "green" electric needs of Michigan.
Our Vision
The Genesee Power Station was designed and built in the early 1990's to utilize alternative and renewable green fuels to produce electricity while providing the environmental benefit of off setting the need for fossil fuels for electricity generation, reduction of land filling and reduction of greenhouse gas production.
Today, MMR is working with industrial clients, universities, state agencies, recycling companies, landfills, etc. to identify alternative / renewable materials that can be handled and burned in an environmentally responsible manner. Prior to consideration all such material GPS seeks to burn must be further analyzed and approved by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.
If you or the company you work for landfills wood waste products that have a heating value and are not toxic to burn, please call MMR to review the potential for recycling that material into green electricity for use by the people and businesses of Michigan.
